My stbx is a strong negotiator. She's saying that I should settle on little over half the equity and have no further payments from her (she isn't the childrens mother). Her argument is that selling the house will cost 15K at least (probably true) and that if I went after maintenance from her (she earns 25K a year more than me) then she'll get a lower paid job (Her boss would give her a different post until the divorce is finalised then re-promote her). I'm totally frustrated. The childrens natural mother doesn't pay any support because she never works..and my wife is their step Mum and feels

So..in the past few weeks it's been a bit like a phoney war. The real battle is looming closer but so far its the odd skirmish and that's about it. Of course I ended up seeing the solicitor on my birthday where I presented my Form E document. It had taken about 3 days solid work to get it all together including doing this years Tax Return in about 5 hours flat. I'm sure I missed out a few receipts but at least I've done it and one less thing to worry about-and the figures were needed for the Form E. My wife still tells me 'to move out' on a regular basis, even though I have my two children

Time rolls on and not a great deal of progress is being made. We exchanged Eforms before Christmas... hers was a joke and so full of holes i refused to allow my solicitor to go through it... a waste of his time and my money. Instead i have raised the issues directly with my S2BX. 1. She insists on setting £55000 aside for our daughters University course. 2. She has had one valuation completed on the FMH by a friend of hers which values it at £55 - 75000 les than the values i have and those on Zoopla etc. She insists we use her one valuation only? he valued it at £70000 more 6 months
