Today is the 1st birthday of my second grandchild (Shezigirl). She's in Greece - far from home. In looking at the lovely photo my daughter sent this morning, so I could see my granddaughter on her birthday, I reflected over the past year since she was born...

Midway through my divorce, I'm watching my daughter settle into marriage with her 3yr old (Sheziman) and new daughter. It would be easy to think she doesn't need me anymore; she's strong, independent and extremely resourceful - she flies by the seat of her pants a lot. She reminds me of me. She's now 27 and with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old.

... my divorce exists! It's official! I got notice today that my petition has been served, posted to stbx yesterday...

 Although it's a straightforward matter at this stage, separated nearly 3 years, I still find myself anxiously scanning my inbox to see if he has 'reacted'. I divorced 22 years ago (as most of you know) and it was hell - from start to 8 years after the finish - it was hell! This won't be anything like that... I know it won't... and that anxiety in my stomach is probably old memories resurfacing.

 But. In my 31 years as an 'adult', I've managed to scrape up 12 years' marriage.
