|National Youth Advocacy Service|
|The National Youth Advocacy Service is a UK charity providing children's rights and socio-legal services. We offer information, advice, advocacy and legal representation to children and young people up to the age of 25, through a network of advocates throughout England and Wales. NYAS is also a community Legal Service. If you are a Young Person with a problem or you would like some advice or just want to speak confidentially to an advisor you can call us on FREEPHONE 0800 61 61 01 - send a text message to 0777 333 4555 - send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org - visit our chat room ABOUT US ▪ NYAS is a charity working for children and young people in England and Wales. ▪ NYAS provides trained and supported Independent Visitors to children and young people who are eligible and for whom it's in their best 'interest'. ▪ NYAS has advocates and solicitors who are trained and experienced in working with children and young people and will only take their instructions from the child or young person with a problem. The service is confidential and nothing will be done or said without the young person’s consent. (Unless of course, that young person is in serious danger, and even then no action is taken without them knowing) ▪ NYAS has been awarded a Community Legal Service contract for specialist help and a Community Legal Service quality mark. ▪ NYAS has a team of inhouse lawyers who can represent children and young people if the problem can not be resolved in any other way. ▪ NYAS House offers a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for supervised contact for children and families on Merseyside. ▪ NYAS provides the Office of the Children and Young People's Commissioner for Sandwell, further enhancing the charities role as a Children's Champion. ▪ NYAS Family Breakdown Helpline offers legal advice and support to children and young people when their families are in dispute. ▪ NYAS Signposting in Birmingham is a preventative service helping children and families find appropriate community solutions to their difficulties. ▪ NYAS has developed sophisticated electronic service directories for local authorities. ▪ NYAS supports young people's consultation groups throughout England and Wales ▪ NYAS is a ‘young person led’ organisation. We routinely seek feedback from the children and young people using our service. We value this greatly and work to encourage participation and involvement in the planning and delivery of our own services as well as in other services provided for them.|
