Understanding your partners financial position is something that needs to be considered during any divorce.
Sometimes partners are open with each other, but from time to time, information and finances are hidden.
I use a site called Reporting Accounts to help me track down and better understand clients finances.
Accounts are not that easy to understand unless you are a financial professional, but some things are easy to pick up on.
How much money does a company have in the bank?
What are the net assets of a business - ie all assets less all liabilities
How much profit was made in the last few years
How much has been paid to shareholders in the form of dividends?
Who are the shareholders?
These are reasonably straightforward questions to ask and work out for yourself.
Where I can help is digging deeper.
I like to help and often give free advice so it is always worth PM me if you need a bit of guidance etc.
