In particular please be aware that:
- the Divorce Guide is a community document that is created, updated and maintained by the registered users of the site. Whilst we try and monitor all updates please be aware that on occassion a rogue entry may appear. The guide is a collection of the users' knowledge and not an authoritative publication.
- the Divorce Forum is by its nature a place where registered users will ask questions and respond to each others posts. Again please be aware that the source of the advice you are given is anonymous, and most likely not from a legally trained person.
- the Divorce Calculator is a tool to provide a rough idea of the range of possible outcomes of ancillary relief hearings. Please treat the results with great caution. The ancillary relief law in England and Wales is not crystal clear, it is open to interpretation by judges. Case Law adds to the law and often fails to provide complete clarity on particular issues. Judges have a very wide discression to make judgements. Presented with exactly the same facts, two different judges can make significantly different judgements. The Divorce Calculator provides just one opinion amongst many on what the outcome might be. You should also refer to your solicitor and to any comments from judges (e.g. judge statements at an FDR).
