Sitting in the school Hall,
First time on my own,
People's voices rise and fall
But I am all alone.
Our daughter is a lovely girl
Pretty,bright and fun,
She thought the world of her dear Dad,
She orbited your sun.
But then her world imploded,
You turned away without a glance
To raise some other woman's child
She didn't stand a chance.
And now she's getting older,
A new life and another new school,
She doesn't cast a backward glance,
