STBX made contact for the first time in a week. We chatted over instant messenger rather than telephone. There were some problems setting up a games console. We'd agreed to pretend it had broken and confiscate it for a few weeks as the kids were having tantrums about it. They were sad for a few days, kept nagging for it but they have new hobbies now. Little one loves to play with his toy cars and does lots of role playing with them. Eldest loves playing board games... the good old classics; jigsaw puzzles, snakes & ladders, ludo and I'll introduce them to tangram when I see them

One thing led to another and things happened... we split... I moved out... I tried to reconcile but she wasn't receptive... ... which led to a realisation that for months I knew it was over, but it didn't compute. I felt her "I want to divorce" was half-hearted and I believed there was a future chance of reconciliation. There might have been a chance many months ago, but not any more.
