Meet our team of parents: Bob Grieg, Kim Tasso, Kirsten Gronning.
Bob Grieg:
'I have been a single parent since 2004. My two daughters Priya and Anya live with me on a full-time basis. In the last few years I have experienced the highpoints and downside of raising a family on my own. I’ve gone through redundancy, some ill-health, a lack of disposable income and a constant nagging feeling that I should always be doing a bit better. But on the other hand, I get to see my children grow up day by day and in truth I have a better relationship with my daughters now than I ever would have done before. It’s just special.'
Recognising that with the growing numbers of single parents in the UK there is a need for a specialist comprehensive on-line service, given by professionals who really understand the issues and concerns faced by single parents in the UK today, Bob founded OnlyDads. To find out more, click here.
Kim Tasso:
Kim Tasso is an independent consultant, specialising in the professional services sector, with over 20 years' marketing experience. She started Practical Marketing Consultancy in January 1994 and has worked for over 300 clients including: law firms, barristers chambers, accountancy practices, surveyors, public and private educational establishments, psychologists, marketing services agencies, broadcast services companies, management consultants, art companies, insolvency practitioners, financial services companies, advertising agencies, national associations, publishers, IT companies and manufacturers. She advises on and provides training in the strategic and operational aspects of marketing, selling and client development.
Kim has raised two kids – her son is now 18 and her daughter 12 – pretty much on her own (let’s not forget the full time nannies to cover long working hours) although there were relationships and even a failed marriage along the way. When her son was 16 months old she left her job in the City and became self-employed – and apart from another three months maternity leave for her daughter has worked all the time – financing the home in Twickenham and everything else mostly herself. The kids still see their dad every other weekend and have a strong relationship with him – but she only talks to him about the children when necessary. She is qualified in psychology and management, works full time as a consultant in the professions, is a freelance journalist and has written three business books. To find out more, click here.
