Samantha Robinson is the latest addition to our Style Consulting team.
Samantha Robinson is currently studying for her Masters in International Fashion Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University. The course covers all aspects of fashion business, and involves keeping up to date with current fashion trends. She also attended the Premium tradeshow at Berlin Fashion Week, so has therefore gained an insight into the forthcoming trends for Autumn/Winter 2010.
Samantha previously worked part time in the head office of AX Paris, a boutique brand which retails online and via concessions in the UK. This involved working alongside the fashion buyer to plan forthcoming lines, shooting garments and creating weekly newsletters for their website, and working as the stylist’s assistant on photo shoots.
Before entering the world of fashion, Samantha trained as a translator and interpreter at the University of Salford, and spent her Erasmus year divided between Germany and France. This involved working firstly as a personal assistant for a telecommunications outsourcing and solutions company in Paris, and subsequently with product data management, supply chain, and as an English teacher in Berlin. Living in Paris the capital of fashion, and Berlin, an emerging fashion market, expanded her knowledge of the fashion industry, and different fashion trends.
To reinforce Samantha’s fashion knowledge, she previously worked as a Sales advisor at Debenhams, the high street department store, whereby she worked alongside the personal shopper to help organise an in store fashion show. Working as a Sales advisor enabled Samantha to understand different consumers’ needs, which includes dressing to suit appropriate body shapes, and choosing colours to complement different skin tones.
Her academic knowledge, in hand with her work experience within the apparel industry means she knows exactly what each consumer desires, and is consequently here to offer the best and latest style advice.
