It is the birthday of my stbx next week, and I have to sort out the kids' presents for him over the next few days. It is easier to do now, then it was. It is a sign of the healing that has happened that I find myself sat here with a coffee sniggering whilst letting my mind dream about some of the things I would like to get him. A course in compassion perhaps? A shirt filled with itching powder, maybe. Or a self tightening tie. Really, it's no big deal now. This divorce is still dragging on, with my stbx taking his time with the paperwork. The house is on the market, and has had 4 viewers, and a very low offer, which is just what I want. I don't want a decent offer, not yet, because I don't need the stress of trying to speed my ex into a settlement so that we are free to sell the house. I know he will try to speed me into a sale without a settlement. He has already told me so. I plan to resist him, but would so prefer not having to fight that fight. Thank you so much for the comments on my last blog post, I really did expect a lecture! I phoned the lawyers yesterday, and had a chat with the legal assistant who is dealing with my divorce and by the end of that chat I told her that I had decided to continue with the divorce.

The legal assistant told me that in her opinion my stbx isn't actually being that slow, she has seen much slower (O.M.G.).  She also sympathised with me for how I was feeling and said how it was entirely resonable to feel as I did, and that she thought most people underestimated how long it would take for a divorce to
