Well its nearly the end of the first month and the situation seems to get worse every day.
The STBx still hasn't found a house and spending money like water. We have just about got rid of all the pets (Some sold). But instead of saving this money she has spent it.
She tried to get tax credits etc but completed the forms wrong and included me on the forms , so she was awarded £0.
Its my mothers 77 birthday next week, so wanted to go a surprise her, we the boys. But the STBx has talked the boys into saying they don't want to go.
Yesterday (Bank holiday Monday), I was flying with the 8 year old. His instructor said "he seems to be having problems seeing the plane at the end of the field".
After a quick chat with the 8 year old, we did some simple number plate reading tests and he could only read plates from about 15yards. Mentioned it to STBx who said it cann't be true and arranged an eye test this after noon. But she decided that she knew what was best and took him to town this morning.
Mediation.
I spoke to our local mediator, who explained process and costs, who then kindly sent some leaflets. Spoke to STBx and said this would be a cheaper route, after initally agreeing, this morning she has refused as she wants to use her solicator (legal aid).
So I informed her that she'd better tell her solicator that she has refused mediation and that based on the costs on this site it will take me 18-24 months to save the money to cover the fees. ( I have no credit rating).
Agreeing Weekends.
As the STBx had talked the boys out of going to see my mother next week end. I suggested that we actually agree who has the boys for what week end. Again she refused and stormed of saying "I'm their mother and I know best".
Did I mention that I got a speeding ticket as well, just to compound problems.
The only good news over the last month is that on Friday my new company car arrived. Hopefully a sign of a new begining.

| Mike - this sounds horrid - but it sounds as if you let your wife make all the decisions. You are a parent too. If you think that your son can't see properly, why is it her decision to do something about it? She doesn't sound like someone who puts the kids first - so you might have to take that over. | ||

Pete - I am sure there are as many controlling women as there are men but I do not think your remark was particularly helpful - indeed some may say it was a tad inflammatory. Mike - your stbx is out of control and whilst I can say nothing really useful in the practical sense, all I can advise you to do is keep your cool and maintain dignity. Because her true colours will come through - she sounds like she has not got the faintest idea what she is doing. Good luck! |

Have a great weekend with your boys and your family. Your Mum would be devastated if they couldn't have been there. A good idea of Jackie's to keep a diary. It's so much more convincing when you can quote 'On June 1st we agreed... and not, 'Well, I remember once ... Enjoy the party, the gig and the airshow. Take lots of photos to remember it all when the going gets tough. Mitchum xx |
