Hi - First ever blog - bear with me - emotional out-pouring!

My partner of over 12 years  (married 8) walked out on me and our 9 year old son last Wednesday (21/01) It is still very raw and painful.

I have read quite a lot of entries on this site and my first reaction was (selfishly, I know) massive relief at not actually being the only person in the world going through this.  I then felt a deep sympathy for you all and I wish you all well for the future. I hope you find the peace of mind and happiness you all so clearly deserve.

I discovered last March that my husband was having an affair

Both children feel 'homesick' and I think rejected by their mother.  They spent the day with her on Sunday, mainly watching TV apparently but tonight 9 yr old quite upset at bedtime.  I had the same with 11yr old over the weekend.

Realisation has dawned that this is where we are and their mummy through her selfishness has really made life very hard for them.  Although I know that what I am doing is the right thing and that they could not have realistically have lived with her at the moment it still feels dreadful to have had to do this.
