Scumbag turned up late yesterday, to spend time with son. I had shut our driveway gates-he opened them so he could park on the drive-he never was very good at picking up on non-verbal signs!!!

 Despite my request to son that he did not let scumbag in the house, he did come in. Son said he 'only wanted to collect some of his things out of the cupboard in the dining room'.  I was so angry at scumbag-and unfortunately at son for a while. But as my friend pointed out, scumbag was wrong to put son in that position.

There were several things where my (ex)wife and I never shared any common ground.  Musical taste is one that stands out most clearly in my memory.  I suppose with there being seven years difference in our age, this was likely to be the case.
