On the forum pages, is there any other way to describe the "child boards"? Such as a "sub topic" or similar?

I ask, as I was already very confused about many things, as everyone is....but I used to think "child boards" meant that they were to discuss the children. Whereas I think they are actually child boards (sub topics) of the main topic described.

Yes it may have been me being daft but I'm not sure I wasn't the only person becoming confused when it came to posting or searching. When children feature heavily in many topics, it was a little confusing.

I hope I have adequately explained what I am talking about.
