In the event that one of the parties (applicant or respondent) join additional pension schemes, say between the stages of NISI and Absolute; without having coming to a financial settlement - would this be taken into account as part of joint assets? or the fact that the NISI has been granted exclude this element.

You say “join additional pension schemes”, which suggests that you mean an employer’s scheme or similar. Unless a large lump sum payment has been made or benefits from another scheme have been transferred into the new scheme, it will have very little value in the first year and could therefore be considered largely irrelevant.
