Hi, this pension he cashed in a few weeks ago was because he was 50 yrs old, he took a lump sum & agreed less on retirement i think? Does that make more sense & has he done it to get out sharing his pension with me? I just want to know if he is being awkward doing this? Cindy

What you say makes very good sense. The maximum he could have taken is a quarter of the value. Although as divorcelawyer says, you may have to say goodbye to the cash amount, the options of offsetting, sharing or attachment on the remaining pension are still open to you.
Peter.
