X says he can't provided CETV for Bass or Civil service as both final salary pensions - what do I do

Final Salary pensions DO have a CETV .. so he is talking b******t. The trouble with CETVs and Final Salary schemes is that because of all the benefits etc a CETV will undervalue the pension somewhat. The only way to be sure of the value if to get an actuarial valuation. My ext2b's cetv (final salary) was 180k. Actuarial Gross replacement value was more than 350k.

If you have any information at all about the pension it may be worth PMing peter@bdm who cd advise you whether they can at least do a guesstimate.

You certainly cannot agree anything without a pension value .... especially if you are looking to offset rather than pension share. How long had he had it/them for?? If there is one that is from an old employer he could/shd have an up to date benefits statement - in fact he should get that annually for both schemes so that may give an idea.

He should have supplied this info with Form E ...

If the pension is likely to be very significant then it may be a waste of time going to FDR without this info .
It is late in the day to postpone .. but if it is a wasted journey I wd definitely be asking for your costs to be paid by him.

It is all a bit of a joke. I already have a cost order against him - from back in January so having costs awarded again will make no difference.

Wasted journey - not really one step nearer the FH!!

Taylr .. sounds like your chances of getting costs to Final Hearing may be pretty good then .

With luck he will get a slap from the judge at FDR .. and you will get your FH.

It sounds like that may be the only way to sort this .

I also have final salary pension and got my CETV within 6 weeks of asking but as Had says,you really need an actuarial valuation. Especially with a gold plated one like the civil service.
