CAFCASS video. 3 Months, 1 Week ago
|
This video explains Cafcass' system - called 'Needs, wishes and feeling' (NWF) - for ensuring children's voices are placed at the centre of family courts. The NWF pack itself can be seen in more detail at http://www.cafcass.gov.uk/publications/my_needs,_wishes_and_feelings.aspxThe comments in the below video were disabled. So another video was made, and modified (in a non CAFCASS way). http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SWIJZNCT840---------------------------- Cheeky CAFCASS uploaded a video, but disabled comments. So here's CAFCASS - The interactive video. Please Comment & give them a piece of your mind. And CAFCASS - don't disable comments, it's just not done. You're considered wimps if you can't take the bad press. PS have you read your last THREE OFSTED reports, tut tut, what are you waiting for... a good report? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ckkho1lccj8

I have read the three Cafcass reports and they are pretty damning but I don't think you can blame them for disabling comments when there are bullies determined to undermine whatever the organisation does or tries to do. There is no point in defacing a video which is focussed on promoting the treatment of children as active participants in the court processes and decisions that affect them with the same old petty diatribe intended to bring the organisation down. I'm sorry but I think this sort of behaviour does a great disservice to fathers and is losing a lot of public support.

I find it totally amazing that this government and pollys in general, go on incessantly about the need to engage with the people via the new technology, yet every single portal is comments disabled. I took particular issue with Labours partnership with Experian for compiling polling data, I tried several comment of varying restraint to question this, but all were rejected. The reality is that the old mindset of we tell you and you listen still exists in the heart of whitehall, and the issue they are struggling with is the Blogosphere, and I guess the solution will be a big clamp down, under the guise of national security.
The Cafcass video and Youtube presence is just BAD TASTE. They have a brand managment issues, as well as performance issues. They are well aware there is a substantial communtiy on youtube that have bad experiences of Cafcass, and it just makes you wonder who thier target audience actually is. To use children to make a political PR message is totally appalling and should be subject to a gagging order.

The problem is Arnie, that in this case if comments weren't disabled there would almost certainly be yet another denial of service attack in an attempt to make the video unavailable to its intended users.

I know more people who are not impressed with CAFCASS. Most of the reason they get unhappy is because CAFCASS gather information, don't share that report with parties before submitting it to court, and expect people to accept the report.
To make matters worse, the CAFCASS reporter (much more often than not)presents inaccurate information as truth.
Some of the information is not provable but the CAFCASS reporter bases his opinion on something....so the Judge accepts false information as truth.
In my case, the first CAFCASS reporter presented my ex (who was fill of lies)as a good parent. I was shocked, and my ex was smirking.
From what I can tell, CAFCASS have no intention of getting any better. Perhaps be seen to be trying.
Judges have little other option but to use CAFCASS. So the same mess gets carried forward.
I would rather have nothing than an organisation that says one thing but does something different, while claiming to do the "right thing".
CAFCASS have been about for more than 5 years, I have been expected to use them twice. The first time was a whole learning experience. The second time was better but I knew what I was doing. Had I not, I feel that the second time round would have been much worse and far more frustrating.
CAFCASS guardians seem to misrepresent more children be twisting what children say to mean something really different, more to the point, not what the child intended the guardain to understand.
There have been calls for the system to be overhauled for a good while....nothing changed. Now the council for Europe is investigating. How many children suffered (and were lost) due to the failings of CAFCASS. My opinion of an answer - way to many.

Assuming the children's position has to be represented, which it does, how do you think that should be achieved. Dont get me wrong NRP, I am not saying things are satisfactory and you have successfully identified some of the short comings, but what would you like to see replace it?
AND so as to safe thread space
Fiona as canny as ever, sidestepped my question as to who exactly the intended audience for this PR spin by Cafcass are and dont you think it is insensitive to even attempt it.

may I join in ? I have had a very bad experience with CAFFCASS I will not go into chapter & verse . Today I spoke to a lady in the Marsh Wall she was trying to be helpful ,however my request for the copies of files have not been found after an extensive enquiries as to the whereabouts of our files. I have covered a lot of cases in our area with this same family advisor being involved with other families who had her & the same Expert Witness's same solicitors & same Judge . All cases different all similar outcome children gone to adoption . I want to see her CV I want more information. It seems the paper work will not surface at the same speed to create a case as it will for a public Inquiry. I can only conclude now they are panicking in an effort to cover up maladministration. I want a review of the case the SS are doing the same as Caffcass they will not budge either. Love the Caffcass secret courts video ,I have flagged the Caffcass video also rang them up and told them people are not convinced the children should have been taking part in this when so many of our own children have been greatly insulted. Over all the image of caffcass is a poor image of an uncaring faceless, blameless individual paid £34,000 a year+ £5,000 for London area .Then last seen driving off in a sports car from a Children's Prison = contact centre. Abandoning the client/child to a very bad experience also a poor image of who they really are ,or place in society.
