I have sent you a pm to explain. For those few people who haven't access to Lady in Blue's private pms, I repeat it here:
Thanks for your PM which was not repeated here.
Perhaps you should have addressed your original post to Jo Abel rather than to me and then I wouldn't have replied.
I would say more but I won't as I'm already down as it is.

Lady in Blue Divorce affects grandparents. Some will never see their grandchildren again. Or have to come to terms that some strange kids might call their son Dad and celebrate Christmas with them. Children lose grandparents or at least the contact, they might have to "share" them with children which belong to the OW or the Next. Son and Daughters in law might not see people anymore which they knew for a long time. Grandparents might ask themselves: "Where did we go wrong with our children, why are they doing this"
Divorce wrecks families, grandparents are part of this

Still Alive,
I misunderstood YA's post and you have misunderstood mine.
I agree with your sentiments below but as far as I can see this programme is not about divorced families but grandparents and grandchildren generally.
If anyone else wants to add a post about this thread pls do not address it to me as this is a raw subject with me.
Thanks.

but as far as I can see this programme is not about divorced families but grandparents and grandchildren generally. I understood that as well. But I thought with the request on this site they want to see other aspects of their relationship..like in a divorce. But this is something they should be clarified.
On a personal level.. my mother in law behaved horrible to me in the beginning... until she found out that little Prince Charming, heir to the throne, apple to her eyes...was actually not telling the truth to her. She still loves him to bits ,after all he is her son. But she started thinking. And talking. Dont give up hope.

Gosh how sad that an outsider can come in and upset us all.
Yes a divorce impacts on everyone. Before we split, I used to speak at least every other day with my in-laws. At least once a month, I would cook and entertain both sets of grandparents. We used to have such fun.It was lovely seeing us all united.
Today, I live alone, kids live with dad. I dont hear from anyone but my parents and the odd friend. I speak to inlaws very rarely. They still adore me but are embarassed. They never hear from him. They say they may as well be dead.
Disgusting - he is getting on with his life - him and his new floozie. While everyone around him has crumbled.
Im ashamed to have known the man. But I hope he's found wot he's been searching for. Oh, and can sleep at night, peacefully.

Lady in blue or stillalive May I put up a support group for grandparents ? Jimmy Deuchers is based in Scotland I admire this generation of people in society ,we will never meet the likes of them again. I have a link for people if they want it. Some grandparents contribute to divorce and some are innocent by standers.
