GRANDPARENTS AND GRANDCHILDREN

My name is Jo Abel and I am a documentary director. I am working on a series for BBC 4 exploring the relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren – what it means, how it is different to the relationship with your own children and how it impacts on the family as a whole.

I know from personal experience that the arrival of grandchildren creates a massive shift in family dynamics both exhilarating and challenging. I am keen to learn from grandparents about this relationship and how it impacts on life.

We have been given this unique opportunity to make this series, and to give it the thought and understanding it needs I need to talk to grandparents, parents and grandchildren about their experiences and relationships with one another.

Until me and my husband broke up me and his family were very close until he moved in with some other woman and i was left by the wayside. I believe grandparents should have a life with their grandchildren but it doesn't help that their siblings have been pratts and they have blasted everyone so they can be happy with a new life and somebody else.

This is a divorce website and I may be wrong here but a lot of us do not have the time to be interested in your documentary about grandparents. Especially if like in mumov4's case the grandparents take sides instead of remaining neutral.

I think grandparents have just as much right to divorce each other as people who have no grandchildren, but one doesn't need to be a grandparent in order to divorce.

I have no grandchildren but I managed to divorce my wife, so it can be done.

I wasn't saying anything about grandparents divorcing. I was expressing the view that and I quote:
