With the housing market as it is, does anybody have any experience of a divorced couple ending up living together in the same house after all the assets have been divided up? I'd love to hear examples of what is involved.

I have never heard of this situation before, perhaps others have.

In my opnion if you could not live together whilst being married, living together after divorce might prove to be extremely difficult.

If you have divided your assets, how are you going to deal with the day to day use of household items. That is the practical side. The emotional side is quite a different aspect, how are you going to feel if your ex brings a new partner home, for dinner, and stay the night? Which is highly possible. Are you going to be a 'best friend' and help chose the clothes to wear, make yourself scarce for the evening?

I do not understand though how it will work if you have 'divided the property' assuming you will have a mortgage, you will both still be on the mortgage. If the house remains in one person's name, the other is classed as a tenant. Cannot see that working.

What would happen if you then decided to move, you would then have the same problem, dividing the property?

I think you would have to be very extraordinary people to be able to sustain such a relationship. That said, why get divorced?
