Personally speaking, if my kids can't get it I would rather the solicitors get everthing rather than my ex, or heaven forbid Gordon Brown.

Thanks for the advice I will have a look at the posts. I just wanted to make sure if(God forbid) anything did happen to me, my children would get their fair share and that it wont benefit some bimbo and her kids!

I think you may find that, if you divorce, any gift or legacy in favour of your former spouse will be treated as if he/she had died before you, unless you make it clear in your will that you intend your ex to benefit.
You should always reconsider your will if you divorce, if only for that reason.
