Timeframes? 6 Months ago
|
|
I have petitioned for divorce, my husband was served a couple of weeks ago and I assume he's now signed and returned the forms to the court.
I know the next step is to wait for the decree nisi to be issued. How long will that take?
Then once that is issued I have to wait 6 weeks and 1 day before I can apply for the decree absolute.

Suzanne,
Depends on a lot of factors - how quickly your husband responds, how busy your local court is, etc etc.
Best case 6 weeks plus for nisi, can be up to 3 or 4 months in busy courts.
Hope it helps,
Mike
