walked out on this man, a professional who loved the pub and the friends that went with it(Drank too much as well!) about ten years ago. I started legal proceedings about 3 years ago. Got as far as divorce nisi without him being there( even though my solicitor asked him formerly a no. of times to be there!), when the courts decided to stop proceedings on the grounds it was going nowhere. Since then I have kept written contact with my husband trying to get him to make a financial settlement and finalise the proceedure in his way and in his time. He has promised 'this and that' in his letters, spoke to my father on the suject etc, which seems to have come to nothing! his last letter was 3months ago. what do I do now?

Are you saying that the court has set aside the decree nisi?

Or they won't proceed to an absolute until he responds in some way?

Have you got anywhere at all with the finances?

Sounds like hell. Post up a little more detail and perhaps someone will have some ideas for you.
