Marital and Business Assets 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago

Advice required please. My husband has left me for another woman (although he is not yet living with her - he is staying with relatives). I will remain in the MH until it is sold. I assume that any equity left in the property will be split 50/50 (our children no longer live at home). However, he is one of two directors of a limited company that owns, with mortgage, the business premises. When dividing our assets would any part of the value of the business premises be taken into consideration?

hi Duffy , yes this would be taken into account and I would advise you try not to go for clean break if he will be still running the business.I am just a little bit ahead of you,I am in similar situation but equal partner in business. He wants to buy me out but I would be requesting maintenance till hthe business either closes down or sold as we started it together .I gave up my job to run it and if I had stayed ther might have been at the top of the ladder and with very good pension but as it is now the business was part of the pension. If you can afford it get good legal advice.Get hold of the company's account ,if it is registered you can do that through company house. Will keep you inform of what advice I get .Meeting my barrister first time on Tuesday. Stand you ground,he is going to hide a lot of things just because he can!!

Hi Marriaa, many thanks for your response. Difficult times ahead - unfortunately I cannot afford legal advice at this moment in time.
I wish you the best for Tuesday, your situation seems to be far more complicated than mine.
