A friend of mine is having problems getting his x to sign close a joint bank account - my mate is therefore still responsible for it and wants to know what he can do.
The bank says the account cannot be closed without both signatures even though my mate held the account before it became joint.
As part of his separation agreement (where my mate is paying £1250/month) the x agreed to close the account.
This has never happened - x is being awkward as my mate left - my mate is considering stopping payments until both parts of the bargain are completed.
They were never actually married although was together for 15 + years with 14 yo daughter.
Any ideas of hoow to get the account closed?
