Hi, ive tried to use the calculator but dont understand it properly. Can anyone advise me?
I'm divorcing my husband for adultry which hes admitted, hes been having an affair 18 months.
We were married in Feb 1995 after living together 3 years.
We bought a house in Apr 1994 but he wanted it in sole name, both worked for 2 years when he went unemployed & sick. DSS paid mortgage interest until 2004 when he went back to work.
2005 I moved out because of abuse & violence (he was alcoholic) & i rented a house but still saw him daily.
He has lived in MH ever since. Solicitor has asked for 3 valuations on house, prices have fallen but its worth between 85k & 90k.
He remortgaged in 2005 for 20K and gave me 17K of it to move out home, it wasnt done legally, i didnt sign for it, though i admit i had it to my solicitor. Solicitor said i was en­title­d to 3k more at that time as equity in house was 40K.
Well, 3 years on, mortgage is for 51K (31K we paid for it & 20K he remortgaged when gave me 17K)
He earns £19.500 per year. I'm long term sick at present (3 years)
He has pensions but dont know how much they are worth, my solicitor might know by now as he asked ex for proof of them. I just found out he cashed one in 2 weeks ago for 2K and spent it all.
Anyone any idea how much i might be en­title­d to if anything? Will he be ordered to pay maintenance? He hasnt got a solicitor and mine doesnt tell me much. Divorce goes into court this week. When are finances sorted?
