I remember when the kids were small and I was forever running round like some unpaid serf! I mentioned to an architect friend of mine that I was always ferrying back and forth from the kitchen for drinks and snacks and waiting on the kids every need. He said to me: 'Enjoy every minute of it while it lasts because it wont and then the day will come when you wont be asked anymore and you will realise how much these seemingly small and insignificant acts were a daily communion of the love between you and your children.
