Men owe twice as much money as women, but women are more likely to struggle with debt, according to a study by the Fawcett Society, which campaigns for equal pay and equal rights.

The statistics bods at Chiltern Debt Management have released news that apparently men have on average 20% more debt than their female counterparts"

But also there are equally articles on women having more debt than men (mainly from companies selling credit!!)

As to debt my situation was due to my ex having expensive habits - the most important thing ot him when he left was ensuring his 13 year old son handed over his raybans! And my supporting him in his business ventures (failed ones).

Personally (although I am fueling it) the battle of the sexes is not relevant here.

what I am finding is the weaker party will fight harder and dirtier than the stronger one. And yes it does get you down - don't get me started on what delights my ex has done... from accusing me in court of tricking him into having our daughter where I had no right of reply to taking money from the joint account and borrowing from his son!!

I think the divorce system is divisory and brings out the worst in everyone.

But take madpoodles advice not all women are the same and neither I hope are all men like my ex!!
