Law regarding possesions 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
|
|
Is there any law protecting possesions. I am aware my ex has sold a few things of mine, I'm not overly fussed at the moment as they are small trinkets if anything. Do I have any grounds aside moving it all out of what is still currently my house to prevent her doing this, or any law to force full disclosure of what she has sold as I am not entierly sure?

Is it only hear say or do you know for a fact she has sold them? Do you have proof of ownership of your personal items? Tricky situation when you leave the marital home and then want your possesion out of it. My fiances ex wont let him have anything of his and is just abusive when he asks her , not even solicitors letters have gotten her to hand his things over. You could make a list of items and ask your solicitor to send a letter to hers asking for them for you to collect on a said day. Aside from that I'm not sure there is any specific law to stop her selling your things.

My partner's stbx destroyed many of his possessions and sold others at a car boot sale...he was told there was really nothing he could do about this...
If you can get the belongings that are obviously your from your home I'd do it as soon as you can before its too late. I suggest you give her notice you are coming (give her a list if possible), act in a calm and orderly manner, and take a friend along as a witness of your good behaviour.
