Hi, I'm divorcing my other half, but I am currently working and living abroad. The respondent will not communicate with me, but I need to travel home and collect the possessions I need from the matrimonial home.
I am concerned that if I travel home to get my possessions while the respondent is at work, maybe the locks or the alarm code have been changed, and I may not be able to enter the house if I return while the respondent is in.
Can anyone give me some advice as to my rights, if I arrive and cannot enter?
Thanks.

Re:Need to get possessions from house 3 Months ago
I would make a couple of suggestions,,firstly have a solicitor write a formal letter saying you need access and the date,,,i would also contact the local police and inform them about your intentions perhaps wiht a copy of any solicitors letters. If need be if you believe there may be a breach of the peace in you returning you can ask (they may not oblige) for an officer to be present or get the solicitor to request there attendance. Otherwise seek advice from a solicitor on any orders to gain entry to the home.
hope this helps.
