Unmarried with a brand new house - wanting split 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi all. I think this is going to be one of them really rare cases and one of those stories you couldn't even make up BUT HERE GOES...
I recently (last month!) bought a house with my GF. But her behaviour has deteriorated massively since we moved in resulting in me wanting to finish and to get rid of the house. Neither of us could take the house on on our own as the payments are far too high and with energy & fuel bills rising plus me commuting to work around 200 miles a week I just can't afford it.
What options do I have here?
Will my credit rating be damaged? Will I lose a lot of money in terms of equity on the house if I sell it now?
A sad situation to be in as the house is really nice but for the sake of my health its probably a good idea to move on.
Thanks for any replies.

Hi with the market the way it is at the moment you will lose a lot of the deposit you put down initially. the market from the looks of things is not going to improve for at least another 6 - 12 months. if one of you can afford to buy out the other and be willing to rent out 1 of the rooms the mortgage company will take this into account and might be enough for them to agree the removal of one of your names off the mortgage. an agreement could be drawn up that the initial deposit money and legal fees that the person who leaves paid will be given back to them in installments or in say a years time is also possible. otherwise you are looking at losing a big chunk of money sorry for the bad news kind regards dawn
