my x has 2 businesses in his name and jointly we pay the mortgage on the house that i am living in with our youngest son, he has said that if we sell the house we pay off the mortgage and then we split the cash left from the house 50/50
Also said that as he has businesses and therefore self employed, said that im en­title­d to 15% of wage for child support, and as he pays himself nothing that is nothing,

what am i en­title­d to? please any advice would be great i seem to be lost in fog, and ive a feeling hes trying to make sure i end up with very little yet i have our youngest living with us. Eldest is independent.

Do not worry, it is common for self employed spouses to play this game!! He will have to declare business accounts and tax returns to either both CSA and the court.

Please get yourself some legal advice, many give the first half hour for free. Look in local paper, telephone directory or phone the number at the top of the home page on this site, you are not obliged to use any firm you phone/visit or have to go down the legal route if you are able to sort it all out between yourselves.

Read some of the forums on here, do not get scared ans try to inform yourself of all eventualities.

Do not agree to sell the house before you get further advice.

child maintenance for 1 child is 15% of net income, what makes it harder when the NRP is self employed is if they pay themselves a very low wage , there fore the CSA would do calculation on that wage and if the NRP says they draw a wage of £100 - £200 p/w that would mean the CSA will use the reduced rate to work out how much maintenance the NRP must pay for 1 child it will be £5, plus 25%, the £5 being for the first £100 and the 25% comes in for anything over £100 but upto £200.

If you believe the NRP is paying themselves in dividends you would need to ask for a variation on the grounds of life­style­ inconsistent with income.
