Where do I start? The CSA have cocked it up beyond belief...they started taking the payments from my account then inexplicably stopped. My ex has told my children I am refusing to pay...they believe her. The CSA are not responding to letters (until I contacted the Shadow Minister of Justice, who escalated it to the Chief Executive of the CSA). Now they said they will respond to the complaint in 15 days. My daughter broke into my house and trashed it...it's not her fault, she was being manipulated into believing I was refusing to pay. Yesterday I discovered that the payments since April (£3000.00) have not been going to my ex wife's bank account but her boyfriends bank account..is this right??? The CSA are morally flawed, they couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery and they are eroding family values

If your wife and you have agreed on the provision for your children; the CSA does not need to be involved. Why not just establish a Direct Debit from your account; to hers; and cut out the middle man? That way you can prove it to yourkids; and keep any boyfriends out of the picture.

I've heard they are pretty crap though!

I totally agree with you they are absolutely cr**p.
They do not take any notice of anything, if you phone them, it is like they have put the phone down and gone shopping, nothing seems to be recorded.
Worst thing ever done in the name of the Children. There has to be a good system in place, but good they most definitely are not.
Like you my ex partner was stung for £450 pm over half his wages, for years, until at the very end they recalculated and decided it shoud have been £101 did we ever get it back yeah right. His ex brought the hit squad in through spite, mind you she did not get all she was due, where the money went I just dont know. Hell on earth.
It just makes things harder, especially if a parent is want to and willing to pay. My story is about 9 years ago when they were completely useless. Is there any way, you could both agree to call off the CSA and make your own arrangments.
You will fight and fight with them and get no where. If your ex can agree sit down and do it privately. Yep another friend, one year later and payments not arriving, half payments, some payment phone calls, letters banging heads on the wall still owes her £4000. Ex said he had paid it, the CSA could not find it.
They are useless. It is about time a property system was put in place by a more professional body of people.
We wrote to local mp, mmmmmm. Independent Case Examiner the lot two huges files full. Only got rid of them a few months ago.
And yes children, My ex partners son, could not beleive that his Dad could not afford to take him out, xmas presents he looked really bad dad. Whilst on the other hand the mum getting £450, used to give him £100pm pocket money, whata lovely mum she was!!!!! of course that was his view. She had all fmh my ex walked away with nothing and always paid maintenance on time. I could rant for weeks on this I think it is so flawed.

I can second this could not ogranise a .................
I never got a penny of my ex he was accidentally caught washing his rollers out in Brook Street Luton. This was front page in the local newspaper, I said look he is working, he was on disability for 7 + years to avoiding paying CSA of more than £5 a week.

The CSA was called the biggest Maladminstration of welfare reform by a minister, and it's easy to see why, even if your awarded £5 pw income support you have no choice but to use them, i find a pair of flip flops in the snow more useful then the CSA.

MisterC you have 1 thing in your favour if it was done via the bank and that is proof of the bank transfer's even if it was in the wrong account, if you are still not happy with the response from the CSA you can always get in contact with ICE, i have dealt with ICE back in 06 they investigated my complaint i was given compensation not alot but to hear the CSA admit yup we screwed up aagin was great.

Thanks for all the replies. I wish I could sit down and work out an amicable agreement. This was once in place when she first left, but when she moved in with her lover, lo and behold the children ended up back on the doorstep time and time again in tatters. Having endured her predatory behaviour and selfishness for 6 months I went to court and was awarded majority custody by the family court.She then withdrew from them almost completely for 18 months, I didn't approach the CSA as I find the whole concept morally abhorrent. Last September she started putting pressure on 2 of them to spend more time with her, as soon as it was more than 50% then WALLOP! CSA demand arrives on the doorstep. Shortly after, a demand for £9000.00 by a debt collection agency. She had walked off with a dormant loan account cheque book that had a zero balance and slipped through the net during the divorce (wince!) She spent up on it then defaulted and faxed my details to the debt agency saying I was responsible. So where is my money going? 3 guesses! I started my own business to be on hand for the children when they came to live me, giving up a good job that, had I kept it, would have meant a lot of time away, not good when your children need you most. Divorce being an expensive business, my overhead is high (remortgage and loans to give her half the equity in the house, solicitors fees etc.) I am paying £800.00 per month to repay the loans for the money that went to her, 25% of my income goes to her for 2 children.... a double whammy. Then I find about about the money going to the boyfriends bank account..why would that be? Maybe she's claiming benefits? I understand the need to chase up absent ex partners who don't give a toss about who they leave behind, but why penalise hard working, loving parents and allow this blatant p**s taking? Aaaaarrrggghhhh again!
