Child support for special needs adult 2 Months, 1 Week ago

My partner and I are about to apply for housing benefit, we have to convince the benefits people that although he is still on the deeds of his ex-home with his ex-wife, he can never release the equity because his 23 year old daughter has special needs and it will always be her home, and under no circumstances would be force the sale of the house. Her mother receives carers allowance for their daughter, therefore she is a dependant in his eyes. My partner is now up in arms because he thinks that because his daughter will be considered a dependant, he'll have to pay some kind of child support. I've assured him that this isn't the case because she's not longer in full time education. Can anyone set our minds at rest about this please, any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure if all cases are dealt with on their own merit , in my case there was no FMH .However due to a special needs child my ex is to pay sposual maintenance for life or until i remarry as noone knows the future for my child maybe he will or maybe he won't be able to support himself.
