On the "Schedule of documents to accompany Form E", nowhere does it state that you have to attach credit card statements.

Bank statements yes but not credit cards.

My stbx did not even acknowledge on his Form E that he has a credit card.

I put mine down but didn't send statements mainly because I used to chuck them when a new bill came in each time.

I only started saving them in April when I thought I might possibly need them.

If you are saying that I have to have a full years worth, then I will have to get on to each company to get back issues and I expect they'll charge a fortune.

Does everyone attach credit card statements?

We each attached one years worth of Credit Card statements. (Can't remember if you're supposed to?) But I certainly wanted to because I wanted to show what I was spending.

I also attached my monthly Bank Statements from the Abbey; and was then asked for itemised Statements. Luckilly the Bank issued these for free; but I think the cc companies may charge?

I thought there was a law that you had to keep up to four years worth of financial stuff? or is that just for us self-employed folk?

Thanks Sera but if it doesn't say anything about credit card statements I'd like to know if you have to send them if asked. Perhaps someone else will know.

Ours is voluntary at the moment but I am pretty sure he is hiding something otherwise why hasn't he even mentioned about credit card on Form E?

I want to be able to ask for his statements even though I will have to provide mine (but I've got nothing to hide).

Financial company stuff I thought was six years you have to keep but don't know about personal.

Form E has a section that asks about Debts; which is to include Credit Card debt. (Hence I submitted mine to prove it; even though it was only for the previous month which I cleared on receipt of that months Statement)

At First Appointment; Judge briefly looked through any debt; and asked if I still owed it. ("no") If you were in the Court system; you could ask for any further information in the ensuing Questionnaire.

my reply to this post would be if you have nothing to hide submit what is asked of you...by not doing so you drag things out and look like you have something to hide....i asked for documentary evidence of all cash transctiopns and evidence of what money had been spent on....no reply to any of my requests...my husband asked to see recipts for all my expenditure...i submitted them by return..hope he has a really good evening going through several months worth of supermarket recipts.....loo roll, dog food, washing powder, sanitary products, bread, eggs, flour,squash etc etc...last of the big spenders me.....

Thanks Sera if and when I get in the court system, I'll ask for the info then even though it doesn't state on Form E that you have to provide these. At least by that time it'll be less months I have to ask for copies of my statements from the credit card companies.

Pyra, it is not me that has anything to hide. I just wanted to know whether I could ask stbx to provide credit card statements on a voluntary basis now as I believe he is spending high although he says he hasn't much money.

Just going back to Kevin's point about a tax credits payment ... surely the source of the money will be shown on the bank statement??

Tax credits statements are send every year ... I presume it would be possible to get a copy from HMRC if you do not have it.

In my case I had to produce every bank statement and credit card statement for about 2 years .. updating frequently - for my personal accounts and for my limited company!!!

I had to account for lists of payments they identified ... but they just made themselves look daft because all were perfectly legit ... and blindingly obvious. It was annoying to have to pay the costs of going through all these hoops though

Even at the Final Hearing they were still asking me to expalin various items of sepnding in an attempt to prove I was frivolous - but only succeeded in looking very very silly.

Now his banks accounts and what they showed were quite another story ....

Kevin, stay calm, be honest, give short and to the point answers and if there are no documents, just say there aren't.
