Will and Money 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago

Hi
My divorce file has started to open so I started to check my savings etc.( I am trying to focus "now" and more practical issue..rather than thinking about his really unreasonable behavior...it can't be cured)
I have got some money from my sister who past away 6 years ago.She left 15K, it's from her life insurance. She commited suiside (it was too sad...) and her will said , "please use the money from my life insurance for our father if he need specific madication or caring" It was not official will but she left a letter and it was hand writing.(I can't read it again, because it is too sad to read.)
Half of them (7.5K) was spent by our father already by himeself (because its in his bank account). But another half of them(7.5K) is in my bank account for safety. I still have kept the money for him because he might have to take another heart operation(he took it last year) and we need some renovation for his house to make him ease(He is disable as well) to change bath tub and shower suitable for elder disable person.
When I make Form E, do I have to declare this money? Is this money going to the divorce POT? Of course if I have to do, I declare it.(I don't hide anything) I have got this money just 3 months later of our wedding.(she commited suiside 1 month after of our wedding) If it go to the pot, of course it is ordered by the court so I follow it, but it is against my sister's will....I know the court order has power not my sister's will though...
Otherwise, do I have to ask builders to renovate bathroom this year to spend the money before the money go to the Pot?
any advice I really appreciate.. Thank you
Regards, moca

Inheritances are a grey area. They are relevant and must be disclosed but if the inheritance has been kept separate from the family finances then it can be argued it is a non matrimonial asset when the needs of both parties can be met from the matrimonial assets. As usual the overall picture is important but in the grand scale of things £7.5k isn't a huge amount and I think there is every possibility it will be alloted to you.

Thank you, Fiona
My husband knows about the money and now he asked me to get him back 500 pounds he contributed to her funeral celemony even he gave it 6 years ago. So I wonder if he want the money to the pot as well, even he knows her will and my father's condition.

Hi Moca Keep going, you must be strong. Good luck with your studies. His greed will come back and haunt him one day, but you will be free. Zara
