Hi.  Not sure if anyone can help me out here.  Background is a consent order agreed with my ex W some 4 years ago and rubber stamped by the court.  Left me with very little but I picked myself up, have remarried, worked really really hard and had some brief financial success.  I got an contact order to make sure I could keep contact with kids (one of three lives with me) and pay CSA by standing order.

After 6 years divorced, my ex husband has made an application for financial settlement regarding our former marital home where he currently resides. I cannot afford a solicitor as I am the only earner in my household. I have so far self represented but now feel I am completley out of my depth. The next hearing id the FDR; date to be arranged. At the last hearing the Judge strongly advised me to get representation to write up my case and represent me at the FDR. I have just received two quotes from different solicitors and they both are around £4500 each requesting £3000 before they can take

I had thought over the last year and a half that I had got myself sorted out.

 

I now realise that I had sorted out regular work, my rental house, had taken up sports and fitness again...but I now realise that I was only part fixed.  Not dealing with money that well, admin is still poor and looking at papers to do with divorce was just a no go area.  Form E is not progressing because so much supporting paperwork is not ready to go.

So trying to turn that around now.  But how long will it take?  It may help me with life afterwards but can I mend or address some issues before court dates (awaiting
