Ok today at 10.30 with a belly full of butterflies the size of water buffalo I walked into a solicitor’s office feeling very uneasy alone unsure what to expect I sat down and waited. This was my first step it’s taken me about 10 days to calm down enough, gather my thoughts, put the hurt to one side and decide what to do next. Now it’s my turn my wife told me she wanted unreasonable behaviour But No not a hope in hell! Its adultery it’s quicker and it’s true to the facts. Perhaps I’m just on a good day I don’t know but I walked out feeling better much better than I have for a week or so. Yes

As this is beginning of the year I would like to set out some things relating to divorce I would like to see happen during 2008.

1) Reform of the child support system so that it delivers and is fair.

2) Education and support for divorcing couples and their families, delivered promptly by multi-disciplinary teams.

3) Reform of the legal aid system to ensure equal access to the law.

4) Clear rules regulating financial settlements.

5) Streamlining of paperwork required by the Courts.

6) Improved enforcement of court orders and penalties actually being applied for non-compliance.

Spoke to my solicitor first thing this morning, which is an accomplishment on its own. Told her of the events of the christmas and new year period. I did not even have to use gentle persuation to get her to suggest that the application to the court was made for the injunction. She said that we would ask the court for a no notice order, which means he will be served with the injunction after the court has agreed it, he will then get a chance to answer it but the injunction will be in place as soon as he has been served. I needed to email her a statement of the abuse from day 1 to present time.
