Some friends and I bunk off down to local pub every Tuesday for the weekly quiz night and always lose!
Well off we go last tuesday and order our drinks at the bar and who should walk by but my ex, looking like a walking barcode in a very loud stipey shirt(yeah bitchy or what?).
Well the guy moved out last november and live about 2 hours travel away now - so whats he doing here? Well he scarpered out of the pub with me still mid double take.
Half an hour later the woman he shared a double bed with for 3 nights, but denies shagging walks in. Ah ha now I realise whats up! Hubby then treks back in and they join a quiz team. Hee hee, I try to make eye contact, but they wnt look at me. A this point I have had my wine and am starting to enjoy their discomfort. I am thinking of a team name, which is usually a joke and will be read out by the landlord at the end of the quiz - how about 'What do you call a marriage breaking whore? Pat!!!!!!!' - thats her name by the way - well it would make me laugh in any case. However the rest of my team veto this idea - spoil sports, so I have to find another way to express my vitriol!! So I just tell the landlord to spill beer on them, but no, he wouldn't do that either - damn it!!!!
So common sense prevails and I do nothing - but I did go up at the end of the quiz and say goodnight and patted him on the head. She wont make eye contact and he starts to get flustered - good enough think I.
Anyway the really strange thing is it didnt upset me at all, so I'm over it, have moved on and I am ready for my life to open up now in a way that it should have done when I was 20 and got married.
PS - would anybody like a dog basket?

Fio..... Isn't it a bugger when some people just won't play ball?????...lol Probably, in hindsight it was more 'sensible' I suppose (but nearly as much fun)..... I find it hard to believe that they had such gall to even stay there - never mind join in the quiz!!!!!! - do people have no shame/decency/consideration????? I'm glad to hear that your emotions were 'in tact'...... I also, found my emotions behaved surprisingly well when I saw my STBX for the first time in seven months.... You seem to be fairing well, and I am so happy to hear it..... Take good care Karen x |

You are funny! I think if I had been there I would have joined in your quest - bought a beer and tipped it (very slowly and without fuss!) in his lap, that way it would not have drawn attention but got the same result! Oh - and for the team name I would have helped you choose something that meant something to the two of you during the marriage but not HER! You kept your dignity but I wish I had been there to support you! |
