Its all completed. I'm free and young(ish) and single!!

I feel I must let you know that finally  after 2 1/2 years its all done. Financial matters finally agreed and approved in Court last week.  Quite surprisingly no Final Hearing needed, agreed before FDR and then FDR hearing used to get Consent Order approved.  Decree Absolute granted last year so now finally sorted.

It is a mighty relief to have it all completed.   So to all of you part way through or starting out on this rocky road then hang in there, its not fun and it can feel like a very long tunnel, with no light at the end but eventually you will get there.  It does get better and while I feel pretty sceptical about relationships and financially battered I am at least my own person again with a new life ahead of me.

I have 2 fabulous children to look after and they are a joy to be with.  I feel some sadness for my ex wife that she has not been able to address her addiction and so has lost contact with our children and the third one she produced last year.  But that is her problem to deal with.

Thank you wikivorce for being around in the beginning.  It was very helpful to realise I was not alone and get some helpful contructive advice.  I hope that as time goes on the whole divorce process can become easier for everyone.  The adversarial nature of divorce helps no one except the lawyers and I hope that shared experiences as one sees on here may help to move the whole thing forward.
