Thought that those who remember me might like to know the latest in the saga. Since my last update the FDR was cancelled. Why? She produced her 3rd child a month early 5 days before FDR due so solicitor advised (and I had to agree) that FDR should be postponded. Only another 3 month wait then for next available appointment. Think that FDR is a waste of time, and should apply straight for Final Hearing now to get up the queue a bit.
So poor child born premature and quite underweight (due almost entirely to alcohol consumption during pregnancy I am informed) It is likely to have suffered Foetal Alcohol Syndrome too and has been taken into care by Social Services. She agrees to a 28 day alcohol and psyciatric treatment but has now bailed out after 14 days.
The latest update following a phone call to our 11 yr old daughter at 9pm tonight is that she is getting married, but not to the father of the baby!!
I am frankly speechless about it all, who knows what our 2 children make of it all and how they will react as they grow up. Ex is still in denial that anything is wrong and of course it is everyone else at fault but her, I wonder how much more has to happen to her to realise that only her actions will change things. The debt collectors are hot on her trail at the moment and I expect the next thing will be Bankruptcy. That again will impact on me as it will affect my credit rating by association.
You couldn't make this up, perhaps Emmerdale would like to buy the plot!!

Bertie Your cheerful good wishes to us all when you're facing such a dilemma are very touching. Let's hope we're all going to have a better year in 2010. Bless you! It's difficult to know what to say that might comfort you. You have to be strong for your two children and that's going to take a massive effort on your part but you're their role model now mother seems incapable of fulfilling that role at present. I wish you well and hope things turn out better for you soon. Mitchum x |

Hi Bertie I remember your situation but clearly missed the baby bit !!! This is a total tragedy for all concerned at least it is very clear that she is in total self destruct and really needs serious help. There is nothing you could do to have changed this but it must have been awful to get this ring side seat. Your kids will hopefully contrast the terrible distress of their mother with the stoic resilience of their father. Best of wishes to you all and heres to 2010 - Rasher | |

Hi Bertie, I remember you from old and am sorry to read that the road is still long .... All I can do is wish you fortitude and the will to continue. I admire your resolution and know that it probably comes at a price. Look after yourself and the children God bless Red XX |
