QUESTION - When is a secret affair, not a secret affair?
ANSWER - When it's exposed on You Tube.
In 2008 we were engaged by a private client to conduct some marital surveillance. The client, the cheating spouse and the lover were all employed by the same company. This made things rather awkward for the client and contributed the the mounting stress of the situation. The client knew the truth, but unfortunately couldn't prove it. What made matters worse is that the cheater was/is a middle management rising star of the company who had threatened the client with the sack if the false allegations did not stop. Luckily the client was made of sterner stuff!
The evidence was easy to obtain and the cheater made some grave errors in the plan to keep it all a secret. Knowing the cheaters movements due to regular habits and some lame attempts at anti-surveillance led following investigators right to the secret love nest.
Footage was gained from the road verge early one Saturday morning. The cheater and the lover were seen exiting the secret address. Even sharing a joke about the affair as they parted. (Yes there is audio too!)
Footage was captured during three weeks of on-off surveillance, including some rather strange habits during work hours, that are best left unsaid.
Footage was supplied to the client in usual DVD format but unfortunately the client was unable to play the footage due to a software conflict on their old laptop, this resulted in the client supplying a friend with the DVD for safe keeping and to convert the DVD to a more useable format.
The friend was a little over enthusiastic with their duties but their intentions were well meant. The next thing we all know is that the footage was on You Tube sporting a musical sound track, a scrolling banner and telling the whole world what had occured.
Next time you play away. just think who might be watching ... The world and his wife, thats who!
We as a professional company of investigators are the sole of discretion and confidentiality so we were shocked to see our footage used in such a public manner with over 1000 hits on You Tube. However what is done is done; but now the dust has settled, all that remains to be said, is that the client deserves better and the cheater got what they deserved.
