We have an honesty library at work, you bring a book in and you swap them. I bought a book about Boudicca and was having mucho problems getting into it so I figured I'd swap it for How To Be Good by Nick Hornby. Having read ‘High Fidelity' and ‘About A Boy' I figured I'd give it a go.

The book is about a woman who decides she no longer loves her husband and wants a divorce. If you've read my blogs you'll see that pretty much where I and no doubt a number of you are....needless to say after the first chapter I figured I wasn't ready for this and the book is back in honesty library.

An old acquaintance re-established himself back into my life recently. We'll call him Dave. Dave was the first of us to get married, this unravelled and then turned into what some of us are experiencing now. Anyway when this happened I did what some people do, helped him out, got bored listening to his whinging, gave him a swerve  and let him get back on with his life as best he could. And he did.

Then whilst whinging about my own demise on FB he did a noble thing and got back in contact. We went out for a few beers as he educated me about the dark science that is divorce and life after

And I find it kinda funny and I find it kinda sad the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had.

Tomorrow 10 years ago...so I'm in a flat that at night I can hear the rats run under the floor boards and up the walls. Not a lyric but a reality. Who would have thought? This evening I went to parents evening, I read my 7 year olds journal and read about Christmas day that did not mention me nor did I get a mention about taking them both to the Doctor Who Experience. Everything is mum-centric. No dad, not in pictures or words. She is only 7 but nothing either from my 11 year old already
