What does that mean? My wife says that friends is the best we will be but says that she is too tired to deal with divorce.
Any ideas on what this means?
I am just getting too confused to understand what the message is.

I dont think she is talking about a physical tiredness, sounds like she is meaning an emotional/mental one | |

Yes, she is emotionally v drained and has withdrawn to protect herself to some extent. But she seems clear that the current position is impossible (which we both agree on). My exit strategy is to talk hers seems to be divorce but she doesn't want to start the path yet. | |

Jules, I think that's a good thing. I'm trying to postpone the divorce as long as possible. I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but the longer we don't go through the legal battle which can only drive more spite, anger, and disdain for each other, the more we can make calm and well-thought decisions if and when that time does come. I have referenced a couple books I have read, and one of them suggests that any couple who is considering a divorce should wait one full year from the time they decide their marriage can no longer work. During that year, many emotions will change and if it does come to divorce, you both will feel a greater sense of closure in the current relationship, which will help to move on and accept new relationships in the future. That's what the book suggests. I figure I have nothing to lose by trying to go that route. Just my opinion though. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Chris |

This has been my reading list so far; relate - Better Relationships Sarah Litvinoff £7.99 relate - Staying Together Susan Quilliam £7.99 relate - Stop Arguing Start Talking Susan Quilliam £7.99 Robinson - Overcoming Relationship Problems Michael Crowe £9.99 I would say that the bottom two have been most useful so far. I may suggest a forum on sugested reading lists. Thanks for the reply. Jules |

Jules...I read: Marriage Fitness by Mort Fertel. Very good book. I have another one: Mastery Guide to Saving your Marriage. Need to check the author. Will get back to you. |

Just did a quick search Dr. Katie Zaltman wrote Mastery Guide to Saving your Marriage and Stopping your Divorce. Updated 2006 apparently. Thanks for the tips. I will check them out. Did you work on them by yourself or with your partner? Jules |
