The Waiting GamePosted by divwiki in Untagged |
OK so my x2b now has my written offer. Why write it? I'm so unsure of what she has been telling her solicitor I want her to take it to today's appointment so that he at least knows what I am offering and my reasoning. Also what I want in return (clean break etc).
She has been talking about backing out and maybe that's in my interest too, but it just puts off the day for a few years so why not get on with it? Anyway how does she think she's going to get any money out of me unless she divorces or non-contests me divorcing her. She's the one who says she wants money fast, but she's so used to everything being handed to her on a plate she doesn't know how to hold her hand out and take it when it's being offered.
Several concerned site-users have asked why I don't just petition her. That was the original plan before she instructed her solicitor to petition me. I would be very nervous now of running parallel petitions as Ihaven't found anybody yet who says that the courts would accept it and surely it would be a costlier way of doing things?
I wonder if the court could reject her petition even if I didn't contest it? The grounds she has described do sound pretty frivolous. Trouble is, her solicitor might encourage her to "beef it up a bit" and then I hate to think what I could see on the petition. Still, not much I can do but wait. If I've got something by mid-week I'll keep my solicitors appointment, but she said if I haven't, then reschedule. Ho hum, watched pots and all that...

Hi Divwiki... How long is it since she told you she had instructed her solicitor to file a petition? Are you sure she has actually done this? I think you know a little of my story... in that my x2b did a runner....I heard from him only to say that he wanted a divorce and to sell the house, then nothing..... Like you, I was just waiting for 'word' that he had filed for divorce.... I asked my solicitor how long it should take to hear something after the petition had been filed at court - according to her, one should get something from the court within 'a week or two'... she also told me to check whether he had taken our marriage certificate with him (as it looked like he had planned his 'escape') ....obviously he would need our marriage certificate if he was planning to file for divorce.... I checked - one marriage certificate tucked up safe and well at home...... It seems to me... that in your case, your ex does so much chopping and changing of mind, that it wouldn't be unreasonable to wonder if she actually HAD filed for divorce.... |

Tankerman! You must of admitted the vase belonged to someone other than yourself! You cant be convicted of criminal damage against your own property in your own home. Shame innit that you are living in the FMH and shes "ran off" with someone else, what she want? To live there with her new partner and you foot all the bills? You should move out and make way for them! NOT! Oh what a totally unreasonable man you are! (says with tongue in cheek!) Kind Regards louise |
