How long can it all take!

I have been on holday for 2 weeks and am very depressed at only getting one day of sun!! I had hoped to re-charge my batteries before the battle of the finances commences!! The stress is really getting to me now and i haven't been able to sleep. Meanwhile my x2b just carries blithely on doing nothing! He hasn't returned the court documents yet despite having them since the end of May so my lawyer is going to apply for the decree nisi without them and on the strength of his lawyers letter accepting the adultery. I find it really strange to think of the wheels turning inexerobaly towards singledom having been with him all my adult life - that is a scary thought! On the finance front he still hasn't sent in his details despite the fact they consist purely of some bank statements! I can't decide if it is him trying to be obstructive or just being f****** useless as usual!! It would be so much easier if there were more guidelines around as to how things should go especially on the subject of spousal maintenance. Even my lawyer won't be drawn in to a conversation on what is considered fair by the courts and yet there is that 10% guidlines when it comes to child maintenance! I just have this awful feeling he is still going to want to push it to a court decision because he is so unhappy at having to do the right thing by me. I am stuck with 2 children, in whom he takes very little interest, and no career because i followed him around the world for 20 years and stayed home with the kids and now this illness that is so limiting my life. The stress of the divorce is causing me to back-slide and i am in a lot of pain - not that he cares, of course!! How long does the court process take? Maybe if he looked at the reality of paying this mortgage for another year he might decide it isn't worth it after all?!!! What have other people found? Back to reality now and the joys of trying to find something interesting for dinner!!
