People SkillsPosted by divwiki in Untagged |
Today marked the first time my x2b has gone two consecutive days without contacting me. If I'd known offering her cash would get her off my back I would have done it when we were living together!
I went and did my stint at a voluntary job I do. People there have been generally very supportive considering my wife works there too; she's off at the moment, though, with the stress she has caused, no doubt. I was annoyed with the director of the branch last monday, though. I had gone to celebrate three volunteer's long service awards and she sought me out to say, in front of the whole room, "we're all very sorry for you, but there's nothing we can do for you." I hadn't asked her to do anything, by the way. I left her a note today to say that people had been supportive so she was wrong. My colleague told me I'm being "sensitive" at the moment, but no - I've always been a bit of an a*se with thoughtless, ignorant people. If she's really offended and doesn't want to look at her behaviour, she'll sack me - big deal, it's not like I'm getting paid.
Seems like everyone I meet has a bitter divorce story. My colleague today had an ex-husband who had managed to wangle himself legal aid despite earning £30K a year and she still can't get money out of him for their son's Uni education. This has dragged on for years which doesn't bode well for me, but I think it's always worse when there are children involved.
Might go back to a meditation group I used to go to which meets tomorrow. It's like mediation, but with tea thrown in...

Meditation? Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Strange reaction from the director! Its times like this that you find out what people can be really like I guess, times of stress when you could do with people being at least tactful, if not sympathetic or helpful. Hey Div no blog? |
