Hi,
Seems the only way to get a divorce (which we both want...) will be for me to petition for unreasonable behaviour.
I'm luck enough to now be on good terms with my x2b; last thing I want to do is upset her and us spend all our money on lawyers. How "naff" can my examples of her unreasonable behaviour be? Does anyone have any examples?

Best thing to do is to let her see the draft UB particulars before you actually petition. If they're not contentious, they have no bearing on anything. Big thing is to agree them with her first. Even better, get her to write out what she thinks you should say. This didn't happen in my case. I wish it had. Alternatively, the truth is a good starting point. Why did the marriage break down? If you both agree on that, then they can presumably be translated into 5 or so short sentences which reflect this. tmb |

The answer is simple very "naff", In my case my stbx had an affair and I stated I would not divorce her for it wanting to try and work it through etc. For my rewards she hit me with a UB petition. My Solicitor said it was the weakest petition he had ever seen and said that if necessary I could contest and most probably win. I learnt alot about her affair and decided that it was best to just accept as the trust could never return... The best example of my unreasonableness was.... "When we went out he would ask me what I wanted to drink he I would respond that I wanted wine and he would then ask me if I wanted a Gin and Tonic." I have to admit that this was true! I did this on at least 2 occasions! My understanding is that you will be able to put anything down even that "he made it rain on my birthday". At the end of the day it will get signed off - probably in the realisation that the system recognises that if you want out then you want out - and just get on with it. Good luck and I do not think you need alot! |
