I havent blogged for a while, for no other reason than things have become really bad, things that i cannot go into.
She has been on a long weekend away (Thurs -Mon), she called me this morning to discuss something about work and slipped into the conversation that she has 'Shingles', i asked if she was Ok and suggested some (more) time off, she said that she had to come into work.
I asked if she was taking anything for it and she said no. so i jumped in the car, drove to the Trafford Centre and bought some Camomile lotion and a soothing gel for her painful rash.
when i arrived back into work, she was already there and proudly showing off a brand new and very expensive watch she was wearing to the staff, (she didnt notice me behind her).
when she finally did, she was embarrassed and changed the subject.
I handed her the bag from Boots with the Camomile lotion and soothing gels and quietly went back to work.
Somehow i dont think she will be bragging about my gift to anyone, do you?
I'll never be able to compete!

Stimo, good to hear from you again just a shame about the cicumstances. I guess it will take a while to realise that you don't have to compete. With an infinite pot of money lots of baubles and bangles can be bought. Takes a lot more than that to care for someone. Perhaps you need to care for yourself more first. Take care Stimo a lot of people think that you are a pretty decent bloke. Don't compete on any other level. Julian |

Hi Stimo ! Good to see you back here ! Not so good to read what has happened... Real shingles are quite painful - so painful in fact that most people in the beginning cannot even contemplate going to work. It sounds as if she has a VERY mild version - a bit like having a cold and not influenza. You did what you thought was right. In the end that is all that counts. Stimo I have had shingles they are really awful. I would have traded the expensive watch for a bottle of camomile lotion and someone to put it on for me. (mine was in an awkward place on my back). Hers must be mild and somewhere that does not show. I looked like I had been overtaken from something on Dr Who, shingles are very ugly. take care Shelia X (cured of shingles) |

Thanks All for the understanding, she has the early stages (she showed the rash on her side) and Doc has given her some tablets for the pain? I'm not sure what brings 'Shingles' on but she tells me it is stress and a general run down condition. I'm not so sure about that as her life seems to be one fantastic party at the moment and i dont think she has ever been happier? Who knows? Stimo x |
